| Mons overcome Limerick challenge |

Monaghan United will represent the First Division in the EA SPORTS Cup semi finals after overcoming Limerick at Jackman Park. Mick Cooke's side are now the only team from the First Division left in the competition, with Derry City and Waterford United both having been knocked out at the quarter final stages. Philip Hughes opened the scoring the the visitors after 35 minutes when his curling free kick defeated Ryan in the Limerick goal. Their lead was doubled on 54 minutes after Sean Brennan took advantage of some relaxed defending to tap home from close range. And Brennan was again on the scoresheet on 74 minutes to wrap-up a convincing win for Monaghan United.
