Lilywhites in search of more points

Dundalk captain Thomas Heary has revealed that the club's current mission is to collect as many points as possible before they reach the halfway point of the season.

The County Louth club go into Week Thirteen hoping to continue their good form after picking up four points from their last two league games.

If they can beat St Patrick's Athletic at Oriel Park, then they will narrow the gap between themselves and the top five teams in the Premier Division.

Manager Sean Connor has been frustrated with injuries and suspensions to his players, but Heary believes that once they get several players back available again they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Heary is enjoying life with The Lilywhites since joining from Bohemians before the start of the season, although he now wants to help the club climb higher up the table and in order to do that they need more points.

"The club have brilliant. They do everything for us and have really looked after us since coming in," Heary told loi.ie.

"It has been really easy to settle in and it has helped that a lot of the lads already knew each other from playing in the league.

"We have good players here and we know that, but it is all about getting that bit of consistency.

"Sean (Connor) is building a good squad here and we have players that can make a difference, although we haven't put a run of good performances together yet.

"We want to build on the good things that we have done so far and pick up more points in this second round of games."
