Future is bright for Dundalk - Connor
Sean Connor believes the future is bright for Dundalk FC as the club continues to re-establish itself as a top flight power.

The Lilywhites spent seven seasons in the First Division before winning promotion back to the top flight last season. Connor says that he believes the club can become a force again over the coming seasons.

"When I took the job, I was given a very clear job description: keep Dundalk in the Premier Division and then see can we build from there," he said.

"Since I've come here the support has been magnificent. In the next two or three years we will be at the top end of the table, it's just going to take a bit of time to get there. When you look at the crowds we are getting, I can see a very, very bright future."

Connor believes that the race for the title will be between three teams this season, with Derry City and Cork City likely to challenge champions Bohemians for the trophy.

"I think there is a gap between the likes of Derry, Cork and Bohs," he said. "I think those three will by vying for the title. I think the rest of us are very similar, so I think it's whichever from that bunch can put an unbeaten run together will put themselves into the top four.

"So there's a lot to play for, and it's very tight at the bottom too, so I think it will be an interesting league. It will be tight between the top three, which is a little mini-league on its own, and then it will be interesting to see where everybody else finishes."
