Dundalk manager Sean Connor has stated that he rates Chris Turner as the best midfielder in the country following his brace against Sligo Rovers.

 

Having signed the player for three different clubs (Sligo, Bohemians, Dundalk), Connor has no doubts about the ability of the former Coventry City youngster.

 

Turner has certainly repaid the faith shown in him by his manager with numerous stand-out performances this season and crucial goals from midfield, including some vital penalty kicks.

 

"I've never seen a man as good at taking penalties under pressure. And the winning goal was a superb strike," said Connor after the 4-3 win over Sligo.

 

"He wasn't playing well in the first-half, but he dug deep and drove us forward in the second-half.

 

"In my opinion, he is the best midfielder in the country."
