MICK COOKE has been confirmed as the new manager of Drogheda United. The former Monaghan United boss replaced Bobby Browne, who stood down from his post at Hunk Dorys Park on Friday night. Ex-Ireland ladies international team manager Cooke played for Drogheda United during the early 1970s. A statement on droghedaunited.ie confirmed that the Drogheda United board of management had turned to Cooke and his backroom staff to re-build the club both on and off the pitch. Cooke will be assisted by former Sporting Fingal coach, Robbie Horgan, who was one of Drogheda’s most popular goalkeepers during the late 1980s-early 1990s. |
