Drogheda United statement on share issue
Monday, 24 January 2011 18:21

Drogheda United today issued the following statement regarding the club's fund-raising initiatives:

"Drogheda United are delighted with the response to the recently announced share initiative and are looking for one final push to get the club within touching distance of the €200,000 target which will secure senior soccer in the town ahead of the forthcoming season.

"While the scheme will only be officially launched by FAI CEO John Delaney at the Boyne Valley Hotel on Thursday evening next (7.30pm), a spokesperson has confirmed that the club is both surprised and greatly encouraged by the response to the recently issued appeal which is designed to secure enough funding to see them through the next 18 or so months and enable officials to concentrate on putting structures in place that will leave it self-sustaining in the future.

"The new initiative, Drogheda United - The Future Starts Here, will see the formation of a new organisation which will hand control of the running of the club to supporters. Shares are priced at €1000 each and there are a number of options available for subscribers who wish to avail of an instalment payment plan."
