Drogheda United face newly-promoted UCD in the opening Airtricity League fixture at United Park. The Boynesiders will be desperate to avoid a repeat of 2009, when a slow start to the season saw them battle against relegation.

Manager Alan Mathews has a full squad to choose from ahead of the season kick-off. Among his squad will be new signings Paul Murphy, Corie Treacy, Joe Kendrick, Damien Brennan, Jamie Harris, Gareth O’Connor, Glen Fitzpatrick, Michael Daly and John Flood.

UCD travel to United Park fresh from their Collingwood Cup triumph earlier in the week. That victory may have come at a cost, however, as Ger Barron, Robbie Creevy and Gareth Matthews are all doubtful for the Airtricity League opener as a result.
