| Healy named Player of the Month |
Cork City midfielder Colin Healy has been named the eircom / Soccer Writer's Association Player of the Month for May. ![]() The Ballincollig native won the award following a string of superb performances for the Rebel Army, who currently sit just two points off the top of the table. Indeed, should results elsewhere go their way, Cork City could go top of the table when they host Dundalk at Turner's Cross in this week's live televised match (Setanta Sports). Healy has praised Cork City manager Paul Doolin for the positive impact the ex-Drogheda boss has had on the Leesiders. "Paul Doolin has a lot to do with it, he has really helped me," said Healy. "He will tell you all of the things you are doing right and all of the things you are doing wrong. He is very thorough. "We were doing really well, we were unbeaten for 10 or 11 games. We had a lot of wins but now we're going through a bit of a sticky patch," he said. "Against Rovers we played really well but we couldn't put the ball in the net. There's no point playing well if you are not going to take your chances." |
