Rebel Army top form guide ahead of crunch fixture

Cork City head into Friday night's crucial match against Derry City knowing that they are the form side in the Premier Division.


Having taken 13 points from their last five outings, the Rebel Army are the team with the most momentum behind them heading into this weekend's fixtures. Friday's meeting at Turner's Cross between Cork City and Derry City is a huge game, especially given the significance of Derry City's victory over Bohemians last weekend. The winners of Friday's showdown at Turner's Cross will be rewarded by climbing to the top of the table for at least 24 hours.

Bohemians' form over the last five matches has also been good, taking 10 points from a possible 15, with city rivals Shamrock Rovers also having taken 10 points from their last five matches. The two Dublin rivals meet at the Tallaght Stadium this Saturday.

In the First Division, Waterford United's form will see Stephen Henderson's men confident of reclaiming their place in the top flight. The Blues have taken maximum points from their last five matches, while UCD's defeat to Wexford Youths ensures that Martin Russell's side are in second place on the form table having taken 12 points from a possible 15.

Sporting Fingal and Wexford Youths will also be happy to look at the form table, although Shelbourne will be concerned that they are 8th in the form table, although Dermot Keely's side have played one less fixture than most.
