| Cork look for three in a row |
|
Cork City will be looking for three wins in a row as the Rebel Army welcome Drogheda United to Turner’s Cross on Tuesday night. Paul Doolin’s side go into the game having beaten Bray Wanderers and champions Bohemians in their last two games, and the City boss says that he is pleased with recent performances. “We had a great result in Dalymount Park on Friday night," said Doolin. "Bohs are not only league champions, but have an excellent record at home and I feel it was a deserved result. We have been putting in the performances in recent weeks, but we had not been getting the results, and to claim two wins on the spin is very pleasing.” Denis Behan and Pat Sullivan were both substituted against Bohemians, but both are expected to be fit for tomorrow’s game, while Robert Mezeckis and Stephen O’Donnell remain sidelined. A win tomorrow night would give City real momentum and continue their push up the table, and Doolin said he is hopeful that his side can keep that form going. “That result made it two wins from two, and of course we will set out to keep that run going against Drogheda," said Doolin. "To have a good season and to be challenging for success it is crucial to win your home games and then try to pick up as many points away from home as possible.” |
