Fans go free at Turner's Cross

Cork City has announced that all supporters will be admitted into Tuesday night's match against Drogheda United completely free of charge.

The Rebel Army will not take any cash on the turnstiles, as they look to encourage the people of Cork to get behind Paul Doolin's team.

Chairman Tom Coughlan said: “We recognise that people are facing tough times at the moment; you only have to look at the papers or turn on the radio or TV to see that people are struggling financially. As a football club which is rooted in the community, we feel an obligation to show some leadership and help to lift some of the doom and gloom and that is why we are offering the people of Cork the chance to come and watch City free of charge on Tuesday.”

Fans at Tuesday's match will also be given the opportunity to purchase tickets for Friday's match against Shamrock Rovers at the Tallaght Stadium. Cork City has been allocated 150 tickets for the match and these will be offered for sale to season ticket holders only at the Drogheda match.

The club has also announced that defender Neal Horgan will be writing a regular blog on the club's website. Horgan's blog can be accessed at corkcityfc.ie.
