Faz and Dennehy join Cork

Faz - Cork CityCork City have snapped up Fahrudin Kudozovic and Billy Dennehy as their preparations for the 2009 season continue.

New Rebel Army manager Paul Doolin has wasted no time in bringing quality players to the club and Kudozovic and Dennehy are the latest two to make the switch to Leeside. Kudozovic joins Cork City from Drogheda United, while Dennehy joins after a spell with Derry City.

Bosnian-born Kudozovic said that he was delighted to be following manager Doolin from Drogheda to Cork City: “I’m happy to be here, there are some great players here and there is a good set-up as well. The players that are here already are fantastic and obviously Paul is looking to improve things further by bringing in a few more bodies. I’ve played under him at Drogheda previously, and I was only too happy to come down here and work with him again.”

City manager Paul Doolin said that Kuduzovic was another welcome addition, as he looks to build a competitive squad on Leeside: “We needed to add to the squad of players that we have here and Faz is a quality player who can play in a number of positions. He is also good from set pieces as well, he delivers the ball very well, so that will be an asset to us also. When he joined me at Drogheda last season, he came in during the season, whereas now he’s come in from the start and I’m very pleased to have him here.”

Dennehy, who signed a two-year contract at Bishopstown this afternoon, told CorkCityFC.ie that he was happy to have signed for the club. “I’m very pleased to have signed a two year contract with Cork City. I know quite a few of the lads here already, and having had a spell with Derry last season when I came back from England I have some experience of the League as well. Paul is building a good squad here and I’m really glad to be a part of it. Training has been very good and I am just looking forward to the season ahead now.”
