| Cork sign English midfielder Keltie |
|
CORK CITY FC have announced the signing of Clark Keltie.  The 28 year old Geordie midfielder had a brief spell on trial at the club last season, playing in the friendly fixture against Birmingham City, before signing for Icelandic side Þór Akureyri. Speaking to CorkCityFC.net shortly after signing his contract at Bishopstown this morning, Keltie said he was delighted to have joined the club: “I enjoyed my brief spell here in the summer, and even though I didn’t sign at that point, I kept in touch with Tommy and I felt that now was the right time to sign for the club.†“I’m grateful that Tommy has given me a second opportunity to sign for the club, and I want to prove to Tommy and the players that I have come back for a reason and that is to do well with Cork City.†Cork City manager Tommy Dunne expressed his happiness with the signing, saying: “Clark was obviously here in the summer, and although he didn’t sign at that point, he did well in training and when he played against Birmingham City. He settled in quickly and we had a good look at him then, so we are happy to bring him in at this point. He is an experienced player who has played a lot of games in England and we are delighted to have him here.†Keltie previously played for Darlington, Rochdale and Lincoln City. |
